Best iPad apps for Kids - January 2012 edition


It seems like everyone (and their Mother) wished for an iPad this Christmas!

If you were one of the lucky ones who got an iPad under the tree, you're no doubt on the search for the best apps to load up on. Depending on your niche, there are tons of recommendations for productivity apps, games, educational apps and more... But what's available for the US doesn't always work for Trinidad and Tobago, and that can make the search frustrating.

Banana Crumb Cake Muffins


Ingredients:
 
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 bananas (mashed) 
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup melted butter
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons quick oats
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

2 tablespoons butter

Saturday, January 7 - Rock Climbing @ Pointe Gourde with Courtenay Rooks

ROCK CLIMBING POINTE GOURDE:Rock climbing is an amazing way to have a blast while experiencing nature in a special way, getting fit and bonding with family and friends! Or make new friends! We meet for 10:00am at the Trinidad and Tobago Sailing Association's (TTSA) parking lot, which is in Chaguaramas after you pass KFC and the Military Museum (with the big plane outside). 
Where: Pointe Gourde, Chaguaramas
When: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Who: Tweens, teens and adults
How: In order to confirm your attendance you must contact Courtenay Rooks either by messaging him on Facebook, emailing him on courtenay@mail.tt or calling / texting him on 620-8240. Please provide accurate info on names + numbers of people attending, a cell contact and an emergency phone number of someone not attending the event. Once you are confirmed, you are subject to the Cancellation Policy 
Cost: Price is TT$170 per person, family discounts for kids are available. This includes tour, equipment, parking at TTSA with use of their toilets and showers and we will be dropped to the climbing site in their boat.

Sunday, January 8 - Rock Climbing @ Pointe Gourde with Courtenay Rooks

  PETTITE MARIANNE (AVOCAT) WATERFALLS & RAPPELING ADVENTURE: This is a fun hike with an easy and adventure option where both end at the 72 foot Avocat Waterfalls.   We meet at Superpharm Maraval for 8:00am. Then drive north through Maraval Valley and emerge through the mountains of the Northern Range onto the stunning North Coast. Head east along the dramatic cliffs and beaches of the scenic North Coast to Blanchisseuse and turn south to Marianne River five miles from Blanchisseuse.
Where: Pointe Gourde, Chaguaramas
When: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Who: Tweens, teens and adults. (Adventurous kids are encouraged to join this hike but they have to be able to hike on their own and have a responsible adult in charge of them.)
