Farewell to the August holidays...

Back to school time is upon us people! Oh how I will miss these days of no traffic. Make the most of it while you can!

This Independence Day I'd like to honour some local achievements. Congratulations to Christian Homer - Trinidad and Tobago's first Youth Olympic Games gold medallist! Great job young man! Happy 48th Anniversary of Trinidad & Tobago's Independence from being ruled by the British monarchy!

For those visiting or newly settled here, on August 31st we celebrate our Independence with Military parades through the streets of the capital - Port of Spain - and ending at the St James Police Barracks.

As always our National Awards will take place on the night of the 31st, where citizens will be honoured for their achievements and service to the country.

Each Sunday morning a portion of the DM Highway is cordoned off to provide residents of Diego Martin and environs with a safe space to get out and get moving.
